Albert Berry
Jr
Nov 13, 1949 — May 23, 2025
In Loving Memory
If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Job 14:1
Albert Berry, Jr., known as Johnny, was born on November 13, 1949, in Jefferson County, Wrens, Georgia, to Jeanette and Albert Berry. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Garvin and Mattie Ella Boyd, in a home where faith was central. This upbringing fostered a strong bond with his younger Uncle Larry, Aunt Bobbie, and some cousins.
He received his education in Jefferson County and was baptized in the open muddy waters of the Harts Grove Baptist Church of Stapleton, Georgia, where his grandfather was a Deacon for many years.
Albert moved to Miami as a young man, joining his mother and eight siblings (six brothers and two sisters). The brothers enjoyed "shooting the breeze" and became professional martial artists. The sisters were spoiled by their brothers and were affectionately called Princess Diana and Tootsie Roll.
Albert worked as a skilled construction worker, painter, and occasionally worked as a chef.
Albert met Bertha, who he instantly knew would be his wife, on a hot summer's day while standing on his porch, looking towards Dorsey Park. Two years later, on July 31, 1970, they married at his parents' home. Their marriage lasted 29 years, and though it ended, their friendship remained strong. They raised four children together.
Later, Albert married Inez Haynes Berry, a devout Christian woman who prayed for him and his salvation. After surviving a triple heart bypass, Albert's faith deepened, fulfilling the prayers of Inez and his grandparents. He dedicated himself to spreading and practicing God's Word through teaching, preaching, and service. Inez preceded him in death in September of 2023.
The story of love was not over, and in 2024, Albert met and married Linda Berry; however, due to his very short and swift illness, Albert preceded his new wife in death.
On May 23, 2025, with his children by his bedside, Albert answered God's call from labor to reward.
