Almena
Chisholm
Feb 25, 1944 — Feb 6, 2025
Almena Mulvina "Lena" or "Reeny" Chisholm as she was most known, was born in Claremont in the parish of Hanover, Jamaica on February 25,1944 to Mordicah Chisholm, a cultivator and Gloria Malcolm, a homemaker. Almena spent her childhood and young adult years in Jamaica, where she attended accounting school, became an educator and a caretaker. In 1990, Almena migrated to Canada and became a home health caretaker.
In 2008, she moved to Brooklyn New York and on October 7, 2009, she became a certified Home Health Aide. In 2014, Almena made the ultimate sacrifice for a loving family and moved to Miami, not only to be a blessing to them, but to many others as well. Everyone who knew her, knew she loved children, cooking, talking and "Loved" the Lord. She would walk through the neighborhood in Miami Gardens, meeting people and spreading the gospel. She loved singing and talking. She was a compassionate giver. She was a friend, mom and grandmother to many that came into her path. In 2021, Almena became severely ill and lost her ability to walk, but her voice of speaking God's word never stopped. As she laid in bed at her nursing home facilities, she attained friendships and love by speaking the gospel.
The nurses and attendants would often share how special she was coming into their facility. "Almena was an Angel from God." Almena will be missed!
