Obituary

Classy, elegant and stylish are a few words that described Angela Lynette Stafford, who was born on April 25, 1963, to the late Ernest Stafford, Sr. and Evelyn Edmonds, in Miami, Florida. While growing up, Angela's paternal grandparents, the late Columbus Stafford, Sr. and the late Annie Stafford, and her maternal grandparents, the late Sylvester Perry and the late Lois Perry, played pivotal roles in her upbringing. As a child, during the summer, Angela would often go on family vacation spending time in Dawson, Georgia, visiting her paternal great grandmother, Catherine "Grandma Cat" Nelson or visiting her maternal great grandfather, Theodore R. "Bo" Dallas, Sr., in Williston, Florida. Angela attended Miami Dade public schools, graduating from Miami Northwestern Senior High School in the class of 1981.After giving her life to Christ as a child, later in life, Angela joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Miami Gardens, under the leadership of Pastor Arthur Jackson, III.A loving and caring person who was a nurturer by nature, it was no surprise that Angela would embark on a career in the healthcare field. She worked at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Memorial Hospital, retiring after 30 years of service, helping others. Angela was blessed with three beautiful gifts, her sons, whom she loved dearly, Willie Mike, Jr., Travis Stafford, and DeAndre Stafford. Angela loved her sons with all her heart and sacrificed for them by giving her all to ensure that they would grow up to be great men who understood the value of family and hard work. Angela loved her family and friends and often demonstrated that love through her passion for cooking. Her culinary skills were second to none. Whether cooking turkey wings and oxtails with dressing, collard greens and macaroni and cheese, she always wanted those who enjoyed her meals to have hefty plates, with some to take home for later. She was also known for her conch salad and conch fritters, as well as her baking abilities, especially her sweet potato pies. Before you left her home you were either full because she had cooked a big meal or she had gone to the kitchen to find something for you to take with you. That's the kind of person she was. Not only did she love to cook, Angela also had a gift for decorating. She was creative with an eye for detail and would often assist family and friends with suggestions on décor, matching colors and themes to help others be successful with their events. Whenever someone visited Angela's home, walking in the door you could smell the aroma of the beautiful fragrances that filled the air. Her home was always immaculate and decorated with exquisite furnishings and paintings. Throughout her home she had inspiring messages hanging on the walls to encourage and motive all who entered. Every entrance had a message whether it was Bless Our Home, The Love of a Family is Life's Greatest Blessing, or Blessed and Grateful. One would feel loved and inspired when you left her home. After her work on earth was complete, Angela was called home to be with the Lord forever, on July 9, 2024.
