Obituary

Annette Ballard blessed the world with her presence on March 6, 1962. She was welcomed into this world by her loving parents, George and Doretha Ballard, in Miami, Florida, and the historic Overtown. She was one of five siblings and the youngest of George and Doretha's daughters. Annette loved all her siblings deeply. She grew up in a house filled with a lot of unconditional love, happiness, charisma, and discipline.

As a kid, she was very adventurous, athletic, and curious about life. Annette's formal education started at Charles Drew Elementary, progressing to Robert E. Lee Middle School, and advancing to Miami Northwestern Senior High School. During these times, Annette was a part of her older sister Barbara's Girl Scout troop 567, was the captain of her cheerleading team, and a phenomenal track star.  Later, she finished her education at Job Corps, receiving her GED.

Annette went on to work at the immigration office, the Battered Women's Shelter, the courthouse, the post office, and Jackson Memorial Hospital. Annette's hard work ethic and love for helping and connecting with the community. With an extensive, impressive résumé, zest for life, and blessed character, Annette thought to add one more impressive title to her résumé – the wonderful act of becoming a mother to Jennifer and blank. She was also a second mother to a host of nephews and nieces. She had an overprotective nature, wise words, and loving ways. She was also a second mother to James and Sabrina Washington, who loved her dearly.

Annette's life was filled with an abundance of blessings and blessings. Due to her many mountains and valleys, her strength and character were unmatched. Always insisting on helping, motivating, encouraging, and inspiring anyone to become their best self. She never judged anyone by their shortcomings or flaws. Always choosing to break bread and love on even the most lost soul in this world. Lending a helping hand, giving love and respect to all was how Annette led her life.

Early Sunday morning, May 24, 2026, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ saw a well-loved soldier in the fight. In which he said, "Enough!" - you have fought enough fights, you have won enough wars, Annette Ballard, take your rest, thy humble servant
