Obituary

Barbara Ann Brown, fondly known as "Cuda" by her family and friends, was born on October 3, 1953, in Miami, Florida to the late John Wesley Brown and Eloise Jackson.Barbara received her education through Miami-Dade County Public Schools and graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School in 1971. She also attended Miami-Dade Community College, majoring in Mortuary Science. She was committed to all of Miami Northwestern Class of 1971 Alumni activities, and she was a very proud "Bull".Barbara was a charter member of Non-Fi-Non-Sorority, an organization created by some of her Divine 9 friends so Barbara wouldn't feel left out.Her loving nature made it easy to work with people with health challenges, to include those with Cancer and HIV/Aids. She also served her community for many years trying to encourage people to get out and vote. She loved poetry and was a great speaker. She was gifted with her culinary skills too, when she put a plate in front of you – you knew it was going to be good. Barbara was a very charismatic, comical, and caring person. She would light up the atmosphere wherever she went. Her heart was filled with love, compassion and generosity - always willing to help when needed.  She had the gift of "helps" and used it to the glory of God. Barbara was a member of the Greater Bethel AME Church.She lived a life of service to others, a life that exemplified kindness, compassion, forgiveness, love and generosity. May her legacy continue to inspire us to uplift others.On July 7, 2024, Barbara Ann "Cuda" Brown departed this life.
