Cherry B Moss was born on June 23, 1934, to the late Sidney and Luella Banks in Dublin, Georgia. She was the oldest of six siblings.Cherry received her early education in the Lawrence County Georgia Public School System. After graduating from Millville High School, she attended Valley State University, where she obtained a bachelor's of science degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. She also attended Bethune Cookman University for recertification classes. After graduating, Cherry began working at Rainbow Park Elementary and retired from Treasure Island Elementary, after 36 dedicated years of teaching.Cherry accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She attended Lauryn Hill Baptist Church in Dublin, Georgia and when she relocated to Miami, Florida she joined Greater New Bethel Baptist Church, in Opa Locka, Florida then under the leadership of the late Reverend W.K. Smith. She later transferred her membership to Freewill Baptist Church under leadership of the Reverend Oliver Gilbert, Jr. Cherry served many years at Freewill and under several leadership positions. After Reverend Gilbert passed, his sister, Reverend Doris Wright became pastor and when she retired her son, Bishop AJ Wright became pastor and renamed the church, which is now called Manifest. Cherry served diligently on the usher board as well as being a financial secretary at Freewill Baptist Church (Manifest).Cherry was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated for 70 years and was an active member of the Beta Zeta Chapter where she served wholeheartedly and in many capacities. Cherry's legacy as a member of Zeta Phi Beta continues through her daughters and granddaughters.Cherry was married to the late Frank Moss for 63 loving years. Frank devoted his life to Cherry and they spent their lives together raising their children.On June 23, 2024, Cherry B. Moses departed this life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Moss; her parents, Sidney and Luella Banks; sister Christina Banks and brother Sidney Banks, Jr. She leaves many cherished memories to her Family.
