Obituary

In Chiquana's own words:

*"Remember to always trust in God. If you do, then you know this isn't goodbye, but see you later. "*

As most of you know, this is the way Chiquana loved to greet people. It's with great sadness and joy that we come together today to celebrate the life and legacy of Chiquana Letisha Samuel-Smith.

On January 13, 1973, she was born to the late John Samuel Sr. and late Eula Lee Samuel.

From a young age, Chiquana's passion for music was evident. Her life was filled with song, and she remained actively involved in music until her final days. Her devotion to her faith, instilled by her parents, remained a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every joy and challenge.

Chiquana was a beacon of love, faith, and kindness to all who she came in contact with, during her lifetime. She graduated from Miami Killian Senior High and later worked in the mental health field.

On July 29, 2024, God looked down and saw a beautiful and shiny rose and he picked it. That rose was Chiquana L. Samuel Smith who went home to be with God.

Chiquana is married to Joseph Smith, her loving husband of 15 years. Their marriage was a testament to faithfulness and devotion, weathering many storms and creating countless beautiful memories together. One of their most unforgettable moments was their honeymoon cruise, which, despite its ups and downs, set the stage for many more adventures.

Her life was a testament to her unwavering faith in God, her love for her family, and her dedication to spreading kindness and joy. Chiquana's laughter, kindness, and essence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
