Constance Ruth
Benjamin Riettie
Oct 12, 1950 — Feb 25, 2025
Evangelist Constance Ruth Benjamin-Riettie was born October 12, 1950. to Pastor Chris and
Evangelist Ruth Benjamin, Jr., who preceded her in death. She was the fifth child of seven born
to this union.
Constance Ruth, or Connie as she was affectionately known, was educated in Miami Dade Public Schools where she graduated from Miami Northwestern class of 1968. She also pursued a collegiate career completing her Masters degree in Psychology. In 1969 she met and married Charles Riettie and to this union were born two beautiful daughters.
In her formative years, Constance exhibited extraordinary educational acumen. She possessed a brilliant mind. She accepted the Lord at a young age under the auspices of Cohen Temple Church of God in Christ and began leading children within the community to the Lord. Every Saturday she would begin preparation for Sunday by getting her mentees ready to follow her to church. Constance was a defender of the defenseless and displayed genuine care and concern for others.
As an adult her relationship with the Lord deepened and prayer and fasting were an essential part of her daily life. Her ministry extended beyond the doors of the church. She had home Bible
study, street Evangelism, jail ministry, food and clothing for homeless individuals and families.
She believed in supporting worthy causes, i.e., St Jude's Hospital for critically ill children, TBN,
and she supported children overseas. She also supported the Jewish federation, battered women's shelter and Mental Health Foundation just to name a few.
In 1984 she relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she continued her work Evangelizing.
Her love knew no boundaries, color, gender or age, because her love was embedded in the love of Jesus Christ. Evangelist Constance leaves a legacy of prayer and devotion unto the Lord and has left an indelible mark for the lives she has touched to follow. God now has her in His keeping, we hold her in our hearts.
