Obituary

Donald Lee Clark, Sr. was born on December 6, 1956, in the city of Ocilla, Georgia to Henry Lee Clark, Sr and Lorener Lott Clark. He was the second oldest of six children.

As a little boy, Donald, Sr. and his family relocated to Miami, where they called home.

He received his education through Miami-Dade County Public Schools, attending Gladeview Elementary, West Little River Elementary, and later graduated from Miami Central Senior High in the class of 1976.

After high school, Donald, Sr. worked for the Party Time Store, setting up tents for public events. Soon after, he earned a position at the Miami-Dade Water Plant which set him up for a great career as a maintenance technician with the Water and Sewer department. Donald, Sr. devoted 27 ½ years of dedicated service, before retiring in 2007.

In November 2000, Donald, Sr. married Barbara Milbry. The couple had a good life together and were blessed to raise four wonderful children. The couple enjoyed traveling together, especially visiting Georgia from time to time. As a husband and father, Donald, Sr. was hard working, a good provider and easy going. He loved his children deeply and would often give them whatever they wanted – if they asked him first.

In retirement, Donald, Sr. enjoyed working in the community as a member of Entwine Lodge #1 working under the jurisdiction of the Most Worshipful Cypress Grand Lodge of Miami, Florida. He was a 33⁰ Mason.  He was also a member of Peaceful Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. C.P. Preston, Jr. until he relocated to Georgia in 2011. He continued his spiritual journey with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor James C. Ward, and later joined Fairfield Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Michael Benton. Donald, Sr. enjoyed attending services, until his health prevented him from doing so.

Today, we remember our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, we remember an easy-going, laid-back guy who loved God, his family, and football, especially the San Francisco 49ers. We remember, he never complained, even when he could, regardless of the situation...his favorite response was "I'm Alright." He was a friend and confidant to many, and he will be deeply missed.

On April 17, 2024, Donald Lee Clark, Sr., departed this life. He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry Lee and Lorener Lott Clark, Sr.; his sister Veronica Williams-Higgs, and his nieces Latoya Clark and Nicole Williams.

He is survived by a loving wife Barbara "B.B." Milbry-Clark; children: Tamika "Mika", Donald, Jr. "Duke", Kimberly "Kimmie", John "Ugly Boy" and Karen; grandchildren: Jayvion and O'Mari; sisters: Shirley Clark, Betty (Elijah) Marshall, Valery (Tony) Thomas; brother: Henry Lee Clark, Jr.; mother-in-law: Corine Anderson; brother-in-law: Rufus (Gloria) Williams; sister-in-law: Ann Milbry; God-daughter: Timilia Shellman; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
