Remembering Dora Modest-Streeter

Born on May 12, 1939, in Gough, Georgia, Dora Modest-Streeter was the cherished

daughter of the late Sammie Mae and Alex Modest. Her early years were spent in Burke

County, Georgia, where she received her education and embraced her faith at Bryant

Grove Baptist Church.

Life's journey led Dora to Waynesboro, Georgia, where she first met Joseph Streeter,

who would later become her beloved husband and who preceded her in death. In 1958,

Dora embarked on a new chapter, moving to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It was there that

she reconnected with Joseph, and their bond blossomed into marriage, leading them to

establish their home in Miami. For many years, Dora dedicated her working life to

Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where she retired as a respected and skilled cook.

Dora's warm spirit and the kindness she extended to others touched countless lives.

She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
