Dulce
Bastien
Feb 28, 1935 — Mar 2, 2024
Dulce Bastien, born to the late Altaniaze Bastien and Denise Denis Bastien, entered this world in Saint Louis du Sud, Haiti. He embarked on his life journey with a vibrant spirit that touched the hearts of many. After graduating from Les Frères de L'instruction Chrétienne, Dulce embarked on an adventure that would take him from the Bahamas to the United States of America.
For numerous years, Dulce contributed his talents and dedication to the Miami Jewish Home, where he served diligently until his well-deserved retirement. He was an integral part of his community, a familiar face at Notre Dame Catholic Church, where he found solace and strength in his faith.
In his leisure moments, Dulce found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was spending quality time with loved ones or indulging in his passion for boxing and international soccer matches, Dulce embraced each moment with enthusiasm and warmth.
Dulce was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie Bastien, as well as his parents, Altaniaze and Denise Bastien, and his siblings: Atanaze Bastien, Antonide Bastien, Remode Bastien (George Latour), Clorine Bastien (Iubien Jean-Baptiste), and Finicia Bastien (Irame Petit-frere).
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of his children: Bonel Bastien, Nicole Bastien, Costau (Ronnetta) Bastien, Dolce Bastien, and Denita (Godfrey) Moorer. Dulce will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Ebony Smith, Xavier Smith, Brittnee Smith, Kiera Bastien, Jonathan Bastien, Tyrell Moorer, Janay Moorer, Wolfgang Bastien, Donovan Bastien, and Kaitlain Bastien, along with his great-grandchild, Riley Smith.
Dulce is survived by his siblings Duval Auguste and Bazelis Bastien, as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
In honoring Dulce's life, let us remember his unwavering love, his infectious laughter, and his enduring spirit. May his soul find eternal peace as his memory lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
