Fleta Mae Moore was born in Montrose, Georgia on January 7, 1936, to parents Jake Baker and Connie Mae Jones Baker. She spent most of her life in Georgia, until she relocated to Wayne, Indiana as a young woman.Fleta married Jessie L. Moore. To this union four amazing children were born. Fleta loved her family and a dedicated, loving wife and mother. She had so much love to give, that not only did she love her own children; she was a "mother figure" to kids in the neighborhood and church. Her sweet spirit caused people to gravitate to her and she enjoyed opening her home and her heart to them. There were outings to the skating rink, movies, and the bowling rink just to name a few. Those memorable outings are forever etched in the hearts of those she touched.Fleta was also a Christian who maintained a solid relationship with God. In the early years, she was a member of Progressive Baptist Church in Indiana, under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Jessie L. White. There, she worked faithfully with the Youth Choir as its Overseer and served as a member on the usher board. When she relocated to Miami in the early 1970s, she continued her Christian journey, and joined New Birth Cathedral of Praise, under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Victor T. Curry. Once again, her bright, loving, and welcoming spirit, led her to join the usher board where she remained for more than 30 years.Professionally, Fleta began working at Fort Wayne State School as a counselor and later with  the City of Miami Police Department in  Records. She was a dedicated employee for over 20 years. She was truly a woman of service: Service to God, her family and to her community. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars and a member of the Parent and Teacher Association (PTA). She was always busy doing things for others. There are so many wonderful memories of our beloved Fleta, far too many to mention. We will remember these memories and the impact she made on the lives she touched.On April 22, 2024. Fleta Mae Moore departed this life.
