Obituary

Geraldine "Kathy" Renee Scruggs, born October 16, 1967, to Gerald Joseph and the late Deloris
Nelson. Her mother preceded her in death.

A proud graduate of Miami Central Senior High School, Kathy furthered her education at Miami-Dade
College, where she earned her Associate's Degree in Psychology. Her professional journey led her to
the Miami-Dade Aviation Department in 2000, where her dedication and leadership abilities earned her
a promotion to Supervisor.

On August 13, 2005, Kathy married the love of her life, Saul Alexander Scruggs, who swept her off her
feet. Through faith, she found her soulmate, and their love story was one of profound devotion. The
depth of love between them was truly indescribable, a testament to their extraordinary bond. The
connection between them was so deep and strong it could be felt by anyone in the room.

Kathy, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was a pillar of strength and love for her
family and close friends.

Kathy was the matriarch of her family, always putting her husband, children, and grandchildren first.
Her enormous heart and selfless nature were evident in how she went above and beyond for those she
loved. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending hours on the phone with
her daughters and best friend or sharing her enthusiasm for TikTok with anyone who would listen. She
became a passionate spokesperson for the social media platform, finding joy and peace as she would
scroll for hours, sharing content and connecting with others in this digital community.

Her love knew no bounds, and her primary focus was ensuring her family was well-cared for. She took
immense pride in her children and grandchildren, considering them her greatest joy and achievement.
Kathy's impact extended far beyond her immediate family. She was a loyal, devoted, and truehearted
person who generously shared her wisdom with those around her. Drawing from her psychology
background, she offered invaluable knowledge, life lessons, and encouragement to anyone who crossed
her path. Her character was distinctive – she was known for her candid approach to giving advice, and
those who knew her well would recognize her signature look of disbelief when her wise counsel went
unheeded. Never one to hold back, she would always express exactly what was on her mind, making
her guidance even more meaningful and authentic.

No matter what obstacles were thrown her way she overcame them all. She was an inspiration to many,
but to her family and close friends she was their She-ro.
The final fight she fought announced her entrance in God's Kingdom with everlasting life. Kathy will
be forever loved and deeply missed.
