Geraldine Smith was and is an extraordinary woman. A God fearing woman, a woman full of love, compassion and strength. She was affectionately known as Gerri. Geraldine was born on December 23, 1952 in Jacksonville, Florida to Doris Elizabeth Nolan and Daniel Lee Smith.Geraldine lived a gifted, spiritual life from a young girl, she was baptized by Rev. Issac Mickins at Mt. Olivette Baptist Church. In her adult years she continued to follow Rev. Issac Mickins at Memorial Temple. She joined New Birth Baptist Church on April 9, 1995. Geraldine deepened her dedication to God and became a Licensed Minister at New Birth Baptist Church in June of 1998.  She then became an Ordained Elder.

She served in the following ministries: New Disciples, Evangelism and Prison Ministry. She was also part of the ministerial team that visited the nursing home with the sick and shut-in. During her free time outside of ministry service, she visited and supported the elderly and those incarcerated. Geraldine served at New Birth for over 29 years.Geraldine worked at The Hartford Insurance as a Legal assistant for 27 years from 1987-2014. Then she worked at Convey for a few years before she decided it was time to fully retire and enjoy sunrises at Hollywood Beach.Geraldine enjoyed reading, traveling and doing ministry work. She loved to help people even if that meant giving her last.On May 29, 2024, at 9:40am Geraldine was called home to be with the Lord.
