Obituary

A TIME TO BE BORN
Irene Cooper Richardson also affectionately known as "Rennie" was born June 1, 1932, in Miami, Florida, the 5 th of 13 children to her loving parents Zephenia and Essie Cooper (who both preceded her in death). Although she was not the oldest of the Cooper clan, she was held in high respect by all her siblings. Irene matriculated through the Dade County Public Schools System.

A TIME FOR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY
Irene was united in Holy Matrimony to Coleman Richardson on August 2, 1948. To this union, nine children were born. God continued to bless this union with a legacy that continued for four generations. On February 22, 1990 after 42 years of marriage, Coleman was called to eternal rest, preceding Irene in death.

A LIFE WELL LIVED
Irene accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age, where she became a member of St. Mary's Wesleyan Methodist Church until her demise. Irene loved to attend church, where she was a devoted member but also known for her elegant suits and hats. She cherished her monthly outings with the Red Hat Diva's of Miami Gardens, finding joy adorned in red and purple, and sharing laughter and companionship. These gatherings were a highlight of her routine, allowing her to stay connected, reminisce, and create new memories.

Irene's professional career began at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she dedicated 37 years of her life as a dutiful nursing assistant, providing compassionate care and support to those in need.

Her commitment to her work reflected in her patience, and unwavering dedication to helping others. At 92 years of age Irene's life was a testament of resilience, wisdom, and rich experiences. Through decades of hard work, love, and perseverance, she built a legacy of strength and devotion to family and community. As a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and aunt, no matter the circumstance, she stood by her family, offering support in her own no-nonsense way. Her presence was a force, and her love—though sometimes stern—was always rooted in care and devotion. Irene's journey was filled with cherished memories, lifelong friendships, and the joy of witnessing generations grow.
