Jacqueline
Marcelin
Mar 5, 1957 — May 22, 2025
Jacqueline Marcelin was born on March 5, 1957, in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, to the loving union of Samson Marcelin and Livia Demezier. From an early age, Jacqueline was known for her strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family. She carried these values with her throughout her life and into everything she did.
In 1981, with courage in her heart and hope for a brighter future, Jacqueline made the life-changing decision to leave Haiti. She immigrated to Miami, Florida, in pursuit of better opportunities—not just for herself, but for the family she held so dear. After spending some time back and forth from Miami to Immokalee , she decided to stay in Miami, Florida, where she built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and love. She worked diligently in various jobs, never shying away from sacrifice, to support her children and extended family both in the United States and back home in Haiti.
Jacqueline was the embodiment of generosity. Her home was a haven for anyone in need—whether it was a meal, a place to rest, or a listening ear. She believed deeply in the community and showed that belief through her actions. Her kitchen was always full, and so was her heart. Cooking wasn't just a task for Jacqueline—it was a passion. She loved preparing meals for family gatherings, church events, and community functions, and she took great pride in the joy her food brought to others. Compliments on her cooking lit up her spirit, not because she sought praise, but because feeding others was one of her greatest acts of love.
Above all, Jacqueline was a devoted mother. Her children—Patrick, Geto, and David—were the light of her life. She worked tirelessly to give them the foundation they needed to thrive. Her love for them was unconditional and endless. That same love extended to her grandchildren, who brought new joy and purpose to her later years. She cherished every moment with them and took great pride in watching them grow.
Jacqueline's impact reached far beyond her immediate family. She was a beloved sister, a nurturing aunt, a loyal friend, and a second mother to many. Her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength left an impression on everyone who had the blessing of knowing her. Her presence filled a room, and her absence leaves a deep void in our hearts.
Though Jacqueline is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the legacy she leaves behind. She taught us how to love unconditionally, to give generously, and to live with purpose. Her life was a testament to resilience, faith, and the enduring power of family.
We find comfort in knowing that Jacqueline is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and resting in the arms of her Heavenly Father.
Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
