Joseph Coley was born on July 7, 1949 to Willie D. and Virginia Coley in Cochran, GA. He was
educated in the Bleckley County School System. He furthered his education in Miami, FL at Lindsey
Hopkins Technical College and William H. Turner Technical Arts Adult Education Center. He
relocated to Miami, FL in 1963. He worked as a Cook by trade at several establishments in the South
Florida area. On November 9, 1971, he was joined in matrimony to Georgia M. Johnson in Miami, FL.
To this
union, four children were born.
He was dedicated member of Bethel Apostolic Temple under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Doris
LaFleur Akins where he was baptized in Jesus' name by the late Suffragan Bishop Henry L. Hood and
received the gift of the Holy Ghost. He later became a member of Tree of Life Ministries and Christian
Center under the leadership of Bishop Willie J. Coley where he was reclaimed in 2013. He was faithful
in Sunday School and served as an honorary deacon affectionately known as Deacon Joe until his
passing.
On Saturday, January 4, 2025, he was called from labor to reward.
