Obituary

Larry Alonzo Gunning was born on September 7, 1952, in Miami, Florida, to the beloved parents Charlie Frank Gunning Sr. and Virginia Valdez Leslie Gunning. From the very beginning, Larry's life was marked by a gentle strength and a heart full of kindness that touched everyone who knew him.


He received his education in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, attending Lillie C. Evans Elementary, Charles R. Drew Middle School, and later graduating from Miami Edison Senior High School. Larry went on to dedicate his working years to the roofing industry and also found purpose in the paint and body trade. Through long hours and honest labor, Larry built a reputation as a hardworking and dependable man who took pride in everything he did.


Larry was much more than his work he was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, supportive brother, and a true friend to many. He was a man of humility, grace, and quiet strength. Those who knew him best remember his unwavering compassion, his generous spirit, and the way he always put others before himself. Whether it was lending a helping hand, offering kind words, or simply being present, Larry gave of himself completely and selflessly.


Even through illness, Larry remained courageous and loving, showing grace and strength every step of the way. He continued to care deeply for his family, offering love and wisdom that will guide them forever.


On April 30, 2025, Larry was welcomed into eternal rest
