Margaret E
Roberts
Oct 27, 1927 — Apr 13, 2024
Let not your heart be troubled; You believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many mansions; If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14: 1-2 KJV
Our beloved Margaret E. Ferguson Roberts was born to David and Evelyn Ferguson in beautiful Nassau, Bahamas. She along with her sister Dorothy, now deceased, were born to this union.
Margaret married Charles Bowleg and together they had two sons, Charles and Charlie. She was later united in marriage to Samuel Roberts and was blessed with one daughter, Sammie Elizabeth, and gained a son-in-love Emmanuel Roberts, Sr. (now deceased).
Margaret and Samuel enjoyed many loving and happy years together until his demise.
After she relocated to the United States, Margaret's quest for a better life led to employment at Richards Department Store, in downtown Miami as one of the first African American Saleslady. Margaret was determined to continue her education and earned both a bachelor of science degree in Education from Florida International University and a master of science degree in Exceptional Student Education from Nova Southeastern University. Because of her dedication and hard work, she gained employment with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools as a middle school teacher and retired after 27 years of dedicated service.
Margaret had a personal relationship with God. She became an active and devoted member of The Church of Incarnation. There, she served on the St. Ann's Margaret Ward-ECW and was a Daughter of the King. Margaret was also a Past president of the Retirees Group of the church. Incarnation was her spiritual home for over 60 years.
Our dearest Margaret was indeed a people person who loved good fellowship in the Order of Eastern Stars, at St. Arthur's Chapter #141 and Kazah Court #117 Daughters. She often traveled with the Retiree Group of AARP, both locally and out of state. One of her favorite experiences was the tour of the White House, which she often spoke of. Her membership with the Sisters of the Red Hat Society brought much joy as she looked forward to attending the meetings and especially the fun outings.
Margaret's love for family and friends was endless. She was a loyal, soft-spoken and kind individual who reminisced about the old times.
As stated in Psalms 91, God blessed her with long life and for that over the years she openly thanked him every day of her life. She could be heard declaring the goodness of the Lord, saying "God's Been Good To Me!"
Servant of God, Well done Rest from thy loved employ; The battles fought, the victory won, enter the Master's joy.
A legacy and lasting memories are left with her daughter Sammie Elizabeth Roberts-Grier, Grand Children Irrington G. Roberts-Isaacs ( Amber) , Tashara Bowleg ( Similen ), Raushanah Jameelah Bowleg, Jamal Bowleg, Zakiyyah Bowleg, Jennifer Roberts, Daniela Roberts and Emmanuel Roberts Jr., 17 Great-Grands, and 1 Great-Great-Grands, A host of nieces & nephews ( Kemps), her dearest friend Dr. Young, and many others close to her.
