Marie Elliston was born on May 16, 1951, to the late Horace Campbell and Advira Morris. She spent her early years in Spaulding, Clarendon, Jamaica, where she received her education. Seeking new opportunities, Marie moved to Kingston and worked as a domestic worker. As a single mother, she welcomed three beloved children—Wayne, Jackie, and Nadine. and her determination to provide for them helped her cultivate a nurturing and caring spirit.After spending her early years away, Marie eventually returned to her beloved hometown of Santa Hill, where she met and married Earl Elliston, fondly known as Mas Ron. Together, they were blessed with three beautiful children: Sandra, Andrea, and Tracy. Marie was a woman of remarkable strength and grace. She devoted her life to her family always placing their happiness above all else.At age 30, Marie embarked on her spiritual journey at the Santa Hill New Testament Church of God in Jamaica. In 1982, she migrated to Miami, Florida, where she continued to build a life for her family. Her faith remained strong, and she deepened her spiritual connection as a member of the Bahaman Avenue Church of God in Opa-locka, Florida, serving as an Usher and singing in the Ladies' Choir.Marie lived in the city of Opa-locka for 40 years, where she was attuned to the political landscape and often shared her thoughts on the city's direction. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, laughter and the inviting aroma of Caribbean dishes. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome, and her gentle spirit touched the lives of many. Driven by a passion for helping others led her to pursue a career as a Certified Health Care worker. She excelled at Cedars Hospital and Claridge House Nursing Home, where her compassion and dedication left a lasting impact on patients and colleagues.In 2008 she retired due to declining health, Marie's legacy of selflessness and care continued to inspire those around her. Her life was a testament to service, love, and commitment, and her memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives she touched.She found great joy in spending time with her family, whether traveling or relaxing at home with her great-grandchildren. Her unwavering support was a constant source of strength for her children and grandchildren as they pursued their dreams. As her health declined, she took time to reflect on her life, sharing cherished memories and expressing her readiness to "go home to be with the Lord." Despite her challenges, her sense of humor remained ever-present.On September 2, 2024, Marie peacefully gained her wings
