Obituary

On November 19, 1960, God blessed Betty and Marvin Burroughs and the Burroughs Clan with "double trouble," a set of identical twin boys, born three minutes apart. Mitchell Burroughs was the younger of the twins, but growing up, he would joke that he was older than his twin brother, Michael. They were truly inseparable growing up, until Michael passed away in 1997.

Growing up in Miami, Mitchell was educated through the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where he graduated from South Miami Senior High School in 1979.

After high school, Mitchell, or "Mitch" as he was affectionately called, entered the workforce. He devoted much of his life to working in Parks and Recreation.  Parks' life was his life!   For over 30 years, he was employed with Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation. It was a job he not only liked, but loved.  After retirement, he still saw fit to go back to work, yes, at a park. He then began working for the City of Miami.

To know Mitch was to love him. He was a kind, genuine man who spoke his mind, whether you liked it or not. He loved sports, especially the Miami Dolphins. He was a die-hard fan, whether it was a great season or a not-so-favorable one.

On April 13, 2026. Mitchell "Mitch" Burroughs departed this life.

May he rest in peace.
