From a young age, Dr. Mikell attended the United House of Prayer for All People.Dr. Mikell was blessed to be the father of two sons, Antonio Mikell and Burnice Lee Mikell, Jr., whom he loved dearly. He had a big heart for people, and constantly worked in an environment where he could help elevate others. In 1994, Dr. Mikell began ministering the Word of God in the streets to the homeless. This was something he did faithfully for many years. In 1996, he was Ordained to be a minister and worked closely with the late Dr. George McRae of Mt Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. In 2001, he became a pastor in Mt Tabor, under Dr. McRae's leadership.
