Raymond Lamar Burton was born in Miami, Florida, on December 3, 1966, to the late Raymond Burton and Deloris Brown. While he was given the name of his late father, he was affectionately known to everyone as "Lamar."

Lamar was a product of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where he matriculated and graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School. During that time, Lamar began to show a fortitude and tenacity that drew people to him and made him well-known in the heart of Liberty City.

Lamar's tenacity and passion led him to a professional career in Building and Construction, where he embarked on an extended career with Robins & Morton Construction Company. While building and construction was a passion and career for Lamar, it was his dedication and energetic personality that everyone will remember.

On May 8, 2025, Raymond Lamar Burton transitioned from glory to glory. As the Bible says, "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteous, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all also that love His appearing." II Timothy 4:6-
