On the trail home, the sun dips low,
Casting shadows as we go.
Whispers of leaves in the evening breeze,
Rustling gently among the trees.

Golden light on the path ahead,
Guides our steps where memories tread.
Footfalls soft on the forest floor,
A journey back to our home once more.

Birdsong fades as night draws near,
Stars awake and skies grow clear.
Crickets chirp in a twilight tune,
Beneath the watchful, rising moon.

The trail is winding, narrow and long,
Yet every step feels like a song.
Familiar scents of pine and loam,
Lead us gently, on the trail home.

In the distance, a lantern's glow,
Marks the place we long to go.
Warmth and comfort, hearth and fire,
Fulfill our hearts with sweet desire.

Hand in hand, through dusk we roam,
Finding peace on the trail home.
As we arrive, the door swings wide,
Embraced by love, we step inside.
