Obituary

Richard Daniel Jr. was born on November 11, 1971, in Miami, Florida, to proud parents Gloria Roberts and the late Richard Daniel Sr; born prematurely at just 3 pounds and 11 ounces.  Raised with a Christian foundation, he was baptized at an early age. Richard attended Holmes Elementary, Westview Junior High, and Miami Central Sr. High School. His life was defined by service, love, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community.

At 16, Richard met his high school sweetheart, the love of his life. Their bond endured for over 36 years, including 34 years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising three sons and a daughter in a home filled with love, friendship, and countless cherished memories.

A dedicated public servant, Richard devoted over 30 years to government service, beginning with Dade County Public Schools before spending 28 years with Miami-Dade County. Throughout his career, he contributed to various departments, including the Community Action Agency, Miami-Dade Solid Waste Management, the office of Commissioner Dorrin Rolle (District 2), and, most recently, as a structural maintenance mechanic with the Water & Sewer Department. A hardworking leader, Richard's unwavering dedication and infectious personality shone brighter than the sun.

Richard had a deep love for music and was always the life of the party. He found joy in cooking, baking, and grilling, and he especially loved seeing others enjoy his food. A passionate Miami Dolphins fan, he enjoyed tailgating and attending games, but nothing brought him greater happiness than Sunday dinners at home, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Family was his greatest treasure, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.

On the afternoon of Friday, March 14, 2025, Richard transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard Daniel Sr.
