Shawkevia Gilyard was born November 22, 1984, in Miami, Florida to the late Pamela Gilyard and Rodney Madison at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Shawkevia "Keke" completed her education in the Miami-Dade Public School System, where she earned her diploma. She was recognized for her kind heart and her ability to speak her mind. Keke's life was a testament to her desire to support those around her. She was a loving Mother, Daughter, Granddaughter, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend.

Shawkevia was a caring mother of four: Spencer, Sylvester, Pamela, and Shania. Her children were her utmost pride and joy, she was determined to give them the best life possible. Acting as both their protector and provider, Shawkevia ensured they always felt her love, particularly because her own relationship with her mother was cut short. She gifted them her wisdom and lasting memories to hold onto.

On March 28, 2025, an angel was sent by God to guide her to a serene and loving home. Awaiting her in the garden of love are her mother, brother, aunts, grandmother, and the father of her children, so even in death she is surrounded by loved ones.
