Obituary

Sheila Amnesta Edgehill was born November 17, 1926, to Mary Doris Julien and Ambrose Lewis in St George's Grenada, West Indies. Sheila moved to England where she married her husband Eric Andrew Edgehill, (deceased). The family remained in England until moving to New York and did not move again until relocating to Florida in 1980 with their children Joy, Ericka, and Steven.Sheila and Eric never strayed far from their roots, participating in Caribbean events such as Miami Carnival and gatherings of friends for holidays and special celebrations. They loved family and welcomed all children into their home whether it was temporary or permanent.Sheila became an active member of  Norland United Methodist Church and joined the choir in 1980. She participated in serving meals to the sick and shut in. She remained an active member until relocating to Manor Pines Convalescent and Rehab Center. Sheila continued to attend church services and lead songs in the choir at Manor Pines Convalescent and Rehab Center.On September 12, 2024, Sheila was peacefully called home to Glory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Andrew Edgehill, parents Mary Doris Julien and Ambrose Lewis, siblings: Swinton Phillip, Ruth Lewis, and Arnott Lewis; grand-in-law Annalesha Edgehill.Sheila is survived by her children Dawne Lewis Allen (Yossess), Joy Edgehill, Ericka Edgehill Ingraham (Anthony) and Steven Edgehill (Margaretta); one surviving sibling, her baby sister Pura Taylor; 14 grandchildren: Latasha Allen, Koya Allen, Azalia Allen, Michael Allen, Steven Edgehill, Amari Edgehill, Tarik "Ricky" Edgehill, Zanaba "Buffy" Edgehill, Hakim Constantine, Mariah Ingraham, Joshua Ingraham, Anthony "Little Tony" Ingraham (Shareka), Shondria Ingraham and Zeria Irvine; 12 great grandchildren: Jeffrey, Jada, Jaxson, Tarai, Sanai, Zamari, Mykal, Zoey, Malia, Aiden, Madison, Caiden and 2 great great-grandchildren, Judah and Paris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
