Shirley Lee Shelman was born on February 1, 1958, in Miami, Florida. She was educated in Miami-Dade County Public Schools and last attended Miami Northwestern Senior High School.
Shirley dedicated many years of faithful service as a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent before retiring a few years ago. After retirement, she fully embraced her passions—cooking and creating a variety of foods and novelties that brought joy and comfort to those around her.
Family was at the center of Shirley's life. She found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones and took great pride in her grandchildren, often sharing stories of their accomplishments with anyone who would listen. She also had a love for travel—whether cruising the seas or flying to new destinations, she embraced life and all the experiences it offered.
Shirley's TSA family held a special place in her heart, where she formed lasting bonds and meaningful relationships. She also built a strong sense of community at the Hamlet at Walden Pond, where neighbors became like family—supporting one another, sharing laughter, and creating cherished memories.
Shirley leaves cherished memories to her children, her sister, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.
Shirley will be remembered for her loving heart, her unwavering devotion to family, her joyful spirit, and the lasting impact she made on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
