Ms. Susie Diane Hooks, the daughter of Minnie Marion and Solomon Hooks was born on August 3,
1949, in Miami Florida. Susie received her formal education at Miami-Dade County Public Schools
and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.
In the early years, Susie was employed by Eastern Airlines for many years. She then went on to work
for Beckman Coulter Clinical Lab and after 30 years, she retired.
After retirement, Susie became heavily involved in ministry at her church and spending more time with
family. This was her heart's delight; however, she wanted more to do. That's when she became a
public transportation driver for the City of Sunny Isles, the place that gave her so much joy.
Susie was a faithful member of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church. She was a dedicated
member, and she loved the Lord.
As we remember Susie today, let all reflect on her smile that was bright and her laughter that was
contagious to those near to her. Her kind spirit and compassion for others; her strong will and
independence that set high standards for those around her to strive for greatness. It brought joy to her
heart when she heard of the accomplishments of those near and dear to her.
On January 12, 2025, the Lord called His child, Susie Diane Hooks home to be with Him.
