Obituary

I, Toddra Latrice Brunson Solomon, was born on December 13, 1977, to the late
Frances Butler and Emmanuel Brunson. I was the youngest of six siblings, three of whom preceded me in death: Brenda Gay, Rodney Brunson, Keith Brunson, and
my nephew Jonathan Welch.

I attended Little River Elementary School, Edison Middle School, and Edison High School, and later continued my education at Keiser University, where I pursued Fashion
Design. Throughout my life, I used the gifts God blessed me with to serve Him faithfully at Peaceful Zion Missionary Baptist Church. My relationship with God was the
foundation of my life, and I made it my mission to instill that same faith, love, and trust in Him within my children.

My love story began in 1996 when I met my husband, Apostle Solomon III, at Cloverleaf Bowling Alley. What started as a chance meeting blossomed into a beautiful journey

of love, friendship, and family. Two years later, at the age of 21, I welcomed my first daughter, Makayla Solomon. Together, my husband and I were blessed with three

more wonderful daughters: Ayshia, Jayda, and Indiya. Being their mother was one of my greatest joys and most treasured accomplishments.

I was a provider, a nurturer, and a woman who never stopped dreaming. I worked many jobs and carried many responsibilities, but my gifts were too strong to be ignored. I
continued to pursue my passions as an actress, model, fashion designer, and singer.

If I could stand before you today, I would tell you this: My life was a life lived on the stage. The theatre wasn't just a place I worked; it was where I breathed, where I healed, where I became the fullest version of myself. My voice was powerful, and I sang with every ounce of emotion God placed within me. I believed in using my gifts to heal, encourage, and inspire others.

While in theatre, I was blessed to move through roles that stretched me, challenged me, and filled me with joy. From the deepest dramatic moments to the loudest, most joyful musical numbers, I gave everything I had. And just weeks before my journey here ended, I was still doing what I loved most - standing under the lights as Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray with Slow Burn Theatre Company at the Broward Center. Every night, when I sang "I Know Where I've Been," I wasn't just performing. I was testifying. I was sharing my heart, my story, my truth.

I loved making people laugh, too, like when I played Rabby in Fat Ham, that beautiful collaboration between Island City Stage and GableStage. And I poured myself into Confederates with New City Players. I was so excited and ready to step into the role of Shug Avery in Brévo Theatre's production of The Color Purple. Knowing that the cast and directors are moving forward and dedicating it to my memory...that fills me with gratitude beyond words.

Over the years, I walked the stages of City Theatre Miami, M Ensemble, and the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe. Each stage shaped me. Each audience lifted me. Each cast became family. But the truth is, my purpose wasn't only in performing. I loved my community. I loved pouring into the next generation.

As an educator and summer camp counselor with Fantasy Theatre Factory at the Sandrell Rivers Theater, I found so much joy in teaching children to love the arts — to find their voices, their confidence, their spark. Those young faces, those little breakthroughs, those moments when a child realized they could - those were gifts to me.

My confidence was unmatched, and I tried to carry myself with grace, strength, and purpose. I could walk into a room and change the atmosphere simply by being myself. I knew who I was, and I faced every challenge wearing the full Armor of God. Through every trial and every victory, I stood firmly on my faith.

On June 7, 2026, at 3:59 p.m., on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon, I answered God's call and transitioned peacefully into His loving arms.
