Obituary

Willy Philippe, an affectionate, loving, and vibrantly outgoing soul, passed away on June 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, adventure, and unforgettable memories.

Willy was a man who truly loved people. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, he dedicated his life to his son, making others smile, and ensuring that joy followed him wherever he went. A proud man who was brought up in the Little Haiti community, where he attended Edison Park, Edison Middle, and Edison Senior High School, building bonds that would last a lifetime.

At the early age of fourteen, as a beach attendant at Key Biscayne, reflecting the values of hard work and dedication his parents had instilled in him. What began as a teenage job, blossomed into a fulfilling career, leading to more than seventeen years as a Park Ranger at Bill Baggs State Park.

Outside of work, Willy's true passion was seeing the world. An avid traveler, he organized and belonged to various travel groups. He was especially proud of his elite status as a Platinum Member of the Carnival Cruise Line, having spent countless trips exploring the open seas.

Willy's warmth and love will be forever cherished by those he leaves behind. Willy was preceded in death by his daughter, Jayla Philippe

He leaves to cherish his memory a son, siblings, nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins, and many others who will forever cherish his memory.

Willy's circle extended far beyond family. To his many childhood friends, neighbors, colleagues, travel companions, his girlfriend - Sholanda James, lifelong friends, and his homeboys – too numerous to name – please know that Willy treasured your friendships, cherished your memories you shared, and carried each and every one of you in his heart.
