Yvonne N. Cherry was born on January 11, 1939, to the Late Hollis and Queen Cherry.  She was the second of their three daughters.  She was educated in the Miami-Dade Public Schools System and graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School in 1956.

At an early age, Yvonne became a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend Samuel Atchison and later joined her mother and sister at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church under the late Pastor C.W. Wade.  She loved to sing so much that she joined the Jr. Choir with Mother Ruby Williams, as the Director.

While Yvonne was a Majorette in the school band, she met, fell in love and later married Charles Fred Murphy and from their union, "Delisa" was born.  She worked in retail for most of her life.

On Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023, "HONEY" as she was affectionately known, gained her "HEAVENLY WINGS".  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Queen Cherry, sisters, Annie Ruth Oliver and Gloria Gerow and great-grandson, Azarya Murphy.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her devoted daughter Delisa Murphy, her bonus daughter Debbie Law; granddaughter Shiquitta Murphy; grandson Antoine Murphy; great-granddaughters Azariyah Murphy and Qui'starrla Bethel, great-grandson Ahziah Murphy; brother-in-law Roosevelt Gerow, nephews Elder Sean Gerow (Celina) and Dion Gerow, special caregiver Darlene McNeil and a host of other relatives and friends.

When I awoke, He was by my side, and reached down his hand. He said "hurry up "HONEY", you're going home to a "GRAND AND GLORIOUS LAND"!!!!!
